Duke, referred to as "THE DUKE", is an outstanding male in one of our Guardian homes. He has a high energy level and drive, and yet is very quick to turn OFF the energy and be calm. Duke is an equal opportunity lover, does not matter your age, he does great with all ages of people and other dogs AND even cats!!
Did we mention, he has a full time job with our Local Sherriff's Department? Duke is trained and certified is the State of Ohio to detect and locate multiple different Drug substances, Gun powders, and even Tracking for a single article. And yes, Duke has been on the crime scene and successful found "the goods". Every weekday, Duke is in the hallways of the local Junior/Senior High School, and from time to time the Elementary Schools, with the School Recourse Officer (SRO), interacting with the Students of all ages, and yes, he is "The Most Popular Kid in School"!! The outstanding positive response the SRO has seen, with not only the students but the general public as well, has been wonderful and truly a blessing for all. Duke began his training with the Sherriff's Department two days after his first birth day, with much hesitation from the Reginal Police K9 Trainer. After completing the 8 week courses in 7 weeks and adding an additional course, he quickly became "One of my most favorite dogs to train" said His Trainer. Duke's Handler, the SRO, said "I don't know how to train another dog. Duke just picked it up so quickly". We are truly Blessed and privileged to have Duke in our Community and have the opportunity to use him to sire more great Golden Retrievers. |
